If you live in our parish, I hope you have received one of our Christmas Cards. The image on the card is at first glance a traditional crib scene. The infant Jesus, in an animal shed with three donkeys looking on. But look again…You see, on each of the donkey’s back is a cross (if our card is not to hand, the image is also on the front page of this website!)
The cross and the crib are of course connected. Jesus was born so that he might die and in doing so, “give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins” (Luke 2:77)
We would love to tell you more; please join us over the next few days. Full details of all of our services can be found by clicking this link – Christmas Services at St Matthews.
But if I don’t get to see you, may I take this opportunity to wish you a blessed Christmas.
William Rogers
